Internet Explorer (bundled with Office 97 and Windows 98/ME)
contains several useful programs for creating and publishing web
pages. The first is a program called FrontPage Express, which is
a graphical HTML editor. This allows you to easily create a web
page. There is also a program called Web Publishing Wizard that
makes it easy to upload your pages to the web server. You may
also use Internet Explorer to upload your pages.
Using Web Publishing Wizard to upload your pages:
1) Start the Web Publishing Wizard
(Start|Programs|InternetExplorer|WebPublishing Wizard)
2) Click on the Next button.
3) Select the File or Folder to upload to the server (If you
select a directory, all the files in the directory will be sent
to the server by default). Click on the Next button. Note that
the main page must be named "index.html" or
"index.htm".
4) Click on the New button to specify a new server where files
are to be sent.
5) Enter "www.icubed.com" and then click on Next.
6) Enter "http://www.icubed.com/~username" (this is
your e-mail username) for the URL or Internet Address. Click on
the Next button.
7) Enter your e-mail password when prompted. Click on OK.
8) You should see a screen with a message indicating that your
files are ready to be published. Click on the Finish button to
publish your files.
9) Click on the OK button when the screen pops up to indicate
that your files were successfully sent to the server.
Once this is done, you can view the page with a URL of
http://www.icubed.com/~username (Assuming that your main page was
named "index.html" or "index.htm").
Using Internet Explorer to upload your pages:
1) Start Internet Explorer 5.0 or later.
2) Enter the following address in to the address bar:
ftp://username:password@ftp.icubed.com/home/users/username/public_html
Note that you must replace "username" with your e-mail username and "password" with your e-mail password.
3) Click Go, or hit enter on your keyboard.
4) From within either Windows Explorer (Start|Programs|Windows Explorer) or from within My Computer, copy a file (right click, then choose copy OR select the file, then hit ctrl-C ) that you want to upload.
5) Paste the file (right click, then choose paste OR select the file, then hit ctrl-P ) into the large blank area in Internet Explorer (at ftp://username:password@ftp.icubed.com/home/users/username/public_html)
Note that your main page must be named either "index.html" or "index.htm".
6) After pasting all your pages using the above steps, you can view the page with a URL of http://www.icubed.com/~username (Assuming that your main page was named "index.html" or "index.htm").
