Generic Modem Drivers

Please note that generic modem drivers are not specifically written for a given modem, but rather for the chipset around which your modem is manufactured. It is always best to use a modem driver upgrade that is supplied by your modem manufacturer. For instance if you have an HP Pavillion with a Conexant softK56 modem, try the HP Pavillion site first, then if you find that there is no driver upgrade listed for you modem there, and you are having connection troubles, you may want to try a generic Conexant driver.
